People often ask us what a typical workday looks like in the sunny South of France. The truth is, no two days are ever identical! Managing second homes across the Canal du Midi corridor, from Roubia and Olonzac down through Lézignan-Corbières to Narbonne, keeps us constantly on the move.
Our morning always starts bright and early with Ren and Jaeger, who demand their sunrise walk along the towpath before we head out on our rounds. Once our two rescue boys are happily settled, we hit the road as Lee & Jenna | Property Care & Consultancy.
Here’s a snapshot of a typical day in early June:
-
08:30 AM – House Checks in Argeliers & Capestang: First up is a routine security and ventilation check for a canal-side home. We inspect all entry points, check utility meters, collect mail, and ensure there are no signs of water ingress or pest activity, send some photos to the owners via whatsapp.
-
11:00 AM – Flat-Pack Assembly in Ginestas: Next, we head to a village house to meet a delivery driver from Castorama. Once the patio set and living room shelving arrive, Lee gets straight to work on flat-pack furniture assembly so the house is fully furnished before the owner's weekend flight.
-
02:00 PM – Town Hall & Utility Consultancy: In the afternoon, we assist a client by liaising with local French utility offices to resolve an internet installation query, taking the administrative stress off their shoulders.
-
04:30 PM – Pre-Arrival Opening near Narbonne: Before calling it a day, we prepare a holiday home for arriving guests: heating checked, windows opened for a warm breeze, garden terrace cleared, and fridge stocked with local wine and essentials.
For us, property care isn't just about turning keys, it’s about providing genuine peace of mind and maintaining homes with professional diligence.
