Le Piano du Lac in Ventenac-en-Minervois: Mouss & Hakim (Zebda) Perform Live on the Canal du Midi
Looking for one of the most vibrant cultural events in the Aude this September? Le Piano du Lac returns to the UNESCO-listed Canal du Midi for a unique floating concert at the foot of the historic château in Ventenac-en-Minervois.
This year’s headline act brings local music royalty to the water: Mouss and Hakim, the celebrated brothers and founding members of the famous French band Zebda.
Mouss & Hakim: 'Comme à la Maison' on the Water
For over 35 years, Mustapha and Hakim Amokrane have been powerful voices in French popular music, known for combining festive rhythms with social commentary and high-energy live shows.
Accompanied by Simon Barbe on accordion and piano, the duo will present their new show, Comme à la maison ('Like at Home"). Expect an intimate yet festive storytelling experience reflecting on three decades of music, solidarity, and celebration—all performed from a floating stage moored on the calm waters of the Canal du Midi.

Music for a Cause: Replanting the Canal du Midi
Attending this floating concert isn't just a great night out in the Minervois wine region...it directly helps preserve the local landscape.
100% of ticket sales are donated to the Replantons le canal du Midi mission. Spearheaded by Voies Navigables de France (VNF), this ongoing project replaces thousands of plane trees lost to Canker Stain disease with diverse, disease-resistant tree species, restoring the canal's famous arched canopy and protecting its historic banks.
How to Make the Most of Your Evening
-
Book Online: Ticket sales directly support the tree planting initiative, but space along the canal bank is limited.
-
Arrive Early for Seating: Open-air canal concerts are informal—bring a folding chair, cushion, or blanket to settle comfortable on the bank.
-
Explore Ventenac-en-Minervois: Stop by the village's famous Maison des Vins right on the canal quayside to pick up a bottle of local AOC Minervois wine before the show begins.
