Beachcombing After Storm Nils: Treasures and Chaos in the South of France

Storm Nils Left Us a Treasure Trove (And We Weren't Going to Waste It)

Beachcombing on the wild shores of the South of France today, right in the wake of Storm Nils—and honestly? The beach absolutely delivered.

We were met with a glorious mix of driftwood, unique shells, absolute coastal chaos, and unmatched vibes. Full photos below!

Thriving Rescues vs Barely Coping Humans

We had Jaeger and Ren with us—our two wonderful rescue dogs from the SPA—and they were living their absolute best lives out on the dunes. With tails up and noses firmly down, they were completely unbothered by the gale-force winds trying to take us all out.

The six adults on the beach, however? We were barely coping.

Picture this: scarves wrapped tightly around our heads, leaning heavily into the wind at a ridiculous angle, and picking up ocean debris like absolute feral creatures. The dogs were handling the elements better than all of us combined, no contest.

What True Joy Looks Like

This is exactly what rescue looks like. This is what pure, unfiltered joy looks like. And apparently, this is also what we look like after a Mediterranean storm has turned the coast upside down.

  • Jaeger & Ren: Absolute picture of health, happiness, and thriving.

  • The Adults: Dishevelled, windswept, and looking entirely feral.

Was it freezing? Yes. Did we look ridiculous? Unquestionably. But it was totally worth it for the treasures we found and the fresh air we got.

🌊 Over to you: Have you ever gone beachcombing or exploring right after a massive storm? What is the best or strangest treasure the sea has ever washed up for you? Let us know in the comments below!
